SLS ACTIVITIES
Four ways to take the stage this year
From varsity choir to backstage production, every SLS activity is built around Severna Park Middle School's performing arts calendar — here's what each one involves and when to get in.
Varsity Choir
Varsity Choir is SLS's auditioned vocal ensemble for students who want to take their singing to the next level. Members build vocal technique, sight-reading, and part-singing skills across a range of choral literature, and perform together at concerts throughout the school year.

Rock N Rollvember
Rock 'N' Rollvember is SPMS's high-energy student talent showcase, featuring everything from bands and solo singers to dance, comedy, and more. Students prepare their own act as part of a full stage production, complete with lighting and sound. It's a great low-commitment way to try performing before the bigger production later in the year.

Spring Musical
Each spring, SPMS students bring a full musical to the stage — building a cast, rehearsing scenes and choreography, and working toward opening night. Students develop acting, singing, and dance skills while learning what it takes to put on a complete theatrical production from first read-through to final bow.

Tech Crew Club
Not everything happens on stage. Tech Crew Club introduces students to the technical side of live theater — lighting, sound, and stage management — through hands-on, after-school work supporting SPMS productions. It's a great fit for students who like electronics, problem-solving, and being part of the team that makes the show happen.
